Memorial Day Fly-In, Sun Valley Airport (A20) AZ
Many thanks to Stanley Gatewood and his wife Jeri, president of EAA Chapter 1558 located in Fort Mohave, AZ. for a great fly-in this Memorial Day weekend. I didn’t know that it was a special fly-in sponsored by EAA chapter 1558 until my wife and I arrived. The gala event took place at the Sun Valley Airport (A20), just south of Bullhead City airport. I would guess about 25 airplanes showed up and over 50 people. The food was great, and the hangar flying was plentiful.
The airport manager, Jim Lambert, was working his ass off, parking airplanes, giving taxi rides, cooking the food. He personally greeted everyone as they arrived. It was run like a fine-tuned Rotax engine.
Thanks to everyone that worked so hard to put this event together.
